We’re known for producing seamless digital experiences that deliver tangible results for our clients. We also have our own product suite that is growing that we wish to invest in.

Based in the UK and 12 years old, we’ve always been a distributed business, right from the very start. We choose where we wish to work. We meet in person regularly in different cities for co-working days and fun evenings.

Our Drupal team is growing…obviously…so we are looking for some fresh talent. We encourage developers, although don’t require them, to have DevOps skills, so our team knows how to run the software they write.

Job description

We anticipate you’ll be involved in, or lead, the following activities:

• Develop on top of open source, mainly Drupal and the related ecosystem.

• Write and design software in a way that parts of it can be open sourced and be immediately useful.

• Use of source control (Git/Github) and actively participate in constant peer review of your peers' work.

• Write software that “pulls its own socks up” and doesn’t require manual steps to integrate into production.

• Work in an iterative agile setting in all phases of the software development cycle from collating requirements through to design, development, testing and releases.

• Solve hard problems.

• Write unit and integration tests.

• Work with and within Docker, DevOps environments and be involved in the full lifecycle of software from initial idea to long term operation.

• Take ownership of work to ensure you deliver from start to finish, involving others, where appropriate.

• Collaborate with colleagues and clients alike - contributing ideas, feedback and leading initiatives.

• Be comfortable with customers, both digital customers and face to face real humans!

Requirements

Essential

• Software development experience in a professional capacity.

• Experience in developing in Drupal OR the capability and willingness to cross train.

• A never stop learning attitude.

• Confident in making decisions about how to approach projects.

• Strong verbal and written professional communication skills, you’ll be able to take on complex information and communicate to non-technical audiences. This is really important. Being fabulous at development is half of what it takes to be a great developer at Full Fat Things.

• Respect, friendliness, integrity, service and tact are your character strengths.

• Excellent critical thinking skills; evaluate complex information to form rational and logical decisions.

• Self motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and on your own initiative

• Goal driven focus - an ability to enter deep focus to solve technical challenges and give your mental best. (We’re fans of “Deep Work” by Cal Newport.)

• Team working skills, with an awareness of the impact of decisions on others, stepping in to help and support colleagues as needed.

• You’ll be based, and be eligible to work, in the UK.
