About Us
Full Fat Things was born out of Drupal; all our developers have a background in open source. This means whatever your needs are, we can build it. We are a full-stack digital agency that transforms ideas into digital experiences and love doing it. We develop your websites, web apps, and create digital strategies. Although we have a strong background within publishing, we also have a myriad of customers from different industries such as Venture Capital, a collection of charity and governmental organisations, Universities, engineering & manufacturing, music, and much more.
What we do
We build software, we love software. But we are more than that; we build digital experiences on open source. We are staffed with people who are obsessed with building products. Truly great software is built by people with a passion. Finding a collection of really passionate people who care about the user journey and experience, and are passionate about building it, is the key to success. As a diamond-certified Drupal contributor, this badge isn’t for marketing; it’s an assurance to our customers that we know what we are doing. We aren’t a Drupal agency, although we love it; we work in open source, so whatever your needs are within open source, we can build it.
Employee Spotlight
The human part of Full Fat Things is what makes us so great. Many of our developers have been developing since they were young, which demonstrates the level of expertise and passion for development that our team possesses. A moment to highlight Nick, he’s been with us for 13 years. He started his development career at the age of 10, and he’s even helped build some iPhone games.
“It had always been clear to me from my childhood that coding was something I would do as a career. I started out on BASIC on the ZX Spectrum and worked my way through BBC Micro’s at school and the Amiga at home before getting to PC’s in my teenage years. I’d always thought I’d be a game developer but found a passion for web development during University and my career grew from there. I still do game development as a hobby, though."

Back in the day, Nick used to be a bit of a blogger for code - it’s been a while since he’s posted, but I think it’s about time he brings it back.

So what does Nick think about working at Full Fat Things?
“When my first child was born, I was working in London and spent around 4 hours a day commuting. This meant that, Monday to Friday, I never really saw him awake. When he was around 9 months old, Stew offered me a role working from home for FFT. This not only let me claim 20 hours a week back from (pointlessly!) moving myself from A to B and back again and several thousand on train fees per year, but it also meant I was around to see my kids grow up. I was able to attend school plays and sports days. I got to see the things that only ever happen once in your life. And, I get to work on a wide variety of projects, solving problems for customers that genuinely help their businesses grow. I get to do this while working with a group of incredibly talented and nice people.” What's not to like?
What our Customers receive
Real, tangible results that grow the business. When you work with us, you are not hiring developers; you are hiring a strategic extension to your business. By providing us with your goals and outcomes, we will achieve these through the smart application of software and experiences for customers. We go above and beyond for our customers, as we become part of their team, they become part of ours. We treat our customers' products, software, and problems as our own.
